Patch Printing

$115.00

Sunday, October 27th, 2 - 5PM

Sliding scale pricing (use codes below):

$75-$95-$115

Instructor: El Stelter

Have you ever wanted to make your own fabric patches? This class is for anyone who wants to learn an easy way to create custom prints on fabric.

Materials to carve and print patches will be provided, though students are invited to bring clothing to print as well (80% organic material such as bamboo or cotton required).

Students will be asked to prepare a 3" x 4" design to print before the workshop, so that we can spend all our time together printing. High-contrast, black and white designs with thick lines will translate best, and the printing space is able to be divided for multiple smaller designs. We will transfer the designs and carve with gouges and knives into easy-to-carve linoleum blocks, then explore a small variety of printing methods, tools, and fabrics to achieve different results. Students will learn how to fix ink to fabric for long-term wear. There will be an optional print swap at the end of class.
