COmmunity code of conduct

  • Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions. Do not engage in behavior or use language that will make others feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. Racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, elitism, and harassment of any kind including bullying, threats, and violence will not be tolerated.

  • Exhibit inclusive and open-minded behavior that is free from discrimination, exclusionary behavior, direct or indirect aggression, and patterns of microaggression.

  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants, their work, and the spaces you are using. This is a shared space and everyone has a right to be here. Be mindful of disrupting or distracting other’s creative processes.

  • Participate in an authentic and proactive way, helping take care of the space by cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment. In doing so, you contribute to the health and longevity of the community.

  • Apologize sincerely when you have caused harm, intentional or not. Recognize that the effects of your actions are more important than your intent.

  • Speak up, or find someone to help when witnessing abusive behavior of any degree. Alert RECC staff, event organizers or community leaders if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this code of conduct, even if it seems inconsequential. Comments and concerns can be submitted through our email at info@reclaimclay.com. We will never publicly disclose your name or comment.

  • If these guidelines are violated, RECC will issue you a warning either in writing or verbally and you may be asked to discontinue studio participation either temporarily or indefinitely, without refund, depending on the severity of your violation.
