FIRING REQUIREMENTS
BISQUE FIRING
We fire our bisque to cone 04
Requirements
All work must have a logo, signature, or identifiable maker’s mark
You must be able to provide us with they type of clay, temperature rating, and name of manufacturer. Example: Speckled Buff, Cone 6, Laguna
Work should be bone dry to guarantee firing timing. If you drop off pieces that are wet we will wait as long as it takes to dry before firing your work
Work must be no more than 1” thick in any area
WE will not fire
Mayco Stroke and Coat glazes for bisque firing
Work with visible cracks
Work with walls thicker than 1”
Do not leave paper, metals, foliage inside clay without checking in with Staff before dropping off
glaze FIRING
We fire our glaze to cone 5
Requirements
Glazed work must have at least 1/4” unglazed margin along the base, and a 1/2” . This includes the underside of a trimmed foot as well as lids. If you want a smaller margin, you must provide your own cookie to fire your piece on top of
Your work must have all glaze wiped from the bottom. It will not be fired if glaze is found on the underside of any piece
Glazes used need to be mid-range cone 4-6 (not 04-06)
Work must be bisque fired prior to glaze firing. We do not single-fire or raw-fire work (going from greenware straight to glaze, skipping the bisque kiln)
WE will not fire
Work with visible cracks
Work that requires stilts (fully glazed pieces with no unglazed base)
Glazed pieces with less than a 1/4” unglazed margin along the base without a provided ceramic cookie
